Dr. John Burkhardt is a foremost researcher and practitioner in applied neuroscience, with a focus on characterizing, predicting, and influencing behavior.

John is a senior advisor for BVA Nudge Unit, and the founder of Capita Neuro Solutions, a thinktank for the application of applied neuroscience, behavioral economics, and data analytics in the commercial space.

He is a globally-renowned speaker and has delivered keynote addresses in North America and Europe on behavioral economics, applied neuroscience, consumer engagement, and the ethics of behavioral practice.

John maintains an open-door policy and is happy to talk with anyone who reaches out on any topic, from academic neuroscience to consumer behavior, and is happy to provide career advice and introductions.
  Steve Olkewicz, PI’s Director for Data Quality and Performance Reporting, has over 25 years of professional management experience that he brings to The Performance Institute. He has worked with both public and private organizations where he has designed, developed, and implemented performance-reporting systems that have integrated with back-end data sources to reduce errors and ensure consistency of data used in data driven performance reviews. At PI, Steve also provides clients with consulting services in performance management, measure development, and strategic planning; his clients include The Department of Agriculture, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service, HHS Office of Inspector General, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Throughout his career, Steve has gained on understanding of the importance of identifying, developing, and using quality data to make decisions. He brings over 20 years of experience implementing systems to provide insight and guidance to his clients.

Disa Patel is a Research Analyst at the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) where she leads efforts to ensure effective contract administration that promotes successful DCF programs. Prior to DCF, Disa worked with Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services (DHS) where she led evaluation efforts in both community and environmental health programs. Disa received her Bachelor’s degree in Community Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, her Master’s of Public Health from Northern Illinois University, and has a Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation from Michigan State University.
 
Kristina Trastek
 is the Director of Performance Management at the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF), where she oversees and supports data analytics, continuous improvement, and performance management efforts. Throughout Kristina’s career she has supported local and state governments by encouraging the use of data to improve outcomes in programs and services that directly impact children, youth, and families. Kristina is a graduate of Winona State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she received her Master’s degree in Social Work, and holds a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
